Most of our workshop/DIY chargers show the condition of your battery, both when first connected and during charge. The fully automatic model will revert to a trickle charge so is ideal for long term conditioning and the intelligent version is also suitable for most battery types including gel. If stored unused, the lead acid battery will self discharge 1-5% in a day - so in 2 months you could lose 25% and in 3 months 45% of it's power is lost! The colder the temperature the less power the battery can deliver. Battery life is considerably reduced with heat - either in use or during charging.
